A local and international circus artist, Tanya has been an integral and innovative part of the Seattle aerial scene over the past seven years. She has collaborated with many other performers including Seattle’s all girl gang The Aerialistas, and is currently a member of Terry Crane’s The Acrobatic Conundrum which is creating a new work in Seattle. Circus has taken her around the globe, but most recently to Ireland with Fidget Feet Aerial Dance Theater where this past summer she was performing in castles, art festivals, and flying 100’ off the ground suspended from a crane. She also works frequently with Club Med resorts as a Circus Program Advisor and Guest Performer. That has resulted in appearances Turks/Caicos islands, Ixtapa, Mexico, and other interesting locales. Tanya, as a young girl, trained with the most challenging of ballet programs and this is reflected in her aesthetic for classical lines and solid technique (even though she managed to be kicked out of that ballet program, not once but twice). This aesthetic blended with a formidable strength/flexibility ratio and explosive onstage drama makes her a force to be reckoned with. To see Tanya perform is to watch a world where all things are possible, and light and shadow are both given their due. A storyteller, a dream guide, pin up girl, and provocateur, she is excited to bring her experience to the Moisture Festival stage.
